Nexus supports custom domains and subdomains for webshops and creator program landing pages (for example shop.gamename.com or gamenameshop.com). To use your own domain, configure DNS as follows.
1. Access your domain DNS settings
Section titled “1. Access your domain DNS settings”Sign into your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider account. Navigate to the area where you can manage DNS records (often called “DNS Management,” “Zone File Settings,” or “Domain Settings”).
2. Create the necessary DNS record(s)
Section titled “2. Create the necessary DNS record(s)”For a subdomain (for example shop.gamename.com), create a CNAME record. Configure it as follows:
- Host/Name: Enter whatever you’d like the subdomain to be. We generally recommend “shop” or “webshop” for webshops, and “creators” for creator program landing pages.
- Points to/Value: Enter the domain to point to at Nexus, this should be
shops-cname.nexus.ggfor webshops andlanding-cname.nexus.ggfor creator program landing pages.
Confirm and save the new DNS record.
3. Inform Nexus that your DNS has been updated
Section titled “3. Inform Nexus that your DNS has been updated”Once your DNS has been updated, reach out to your contact at Nexus with the domain you’d like to use. We will set this up internally and let you know when it is live.
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 48 hours to propagate globally, so your webshop or creator program landing page may not be immediately accessible with your custom domain.
4. Troubleshooting tips
Section titled “4. Troubleshooting tips”- Record details: Ensure that the subdomain is correctly entered (i.e., “shop” and not “shop.gamename.com” as the host) and that the CNAME points exactly to either
shops-cname.nexus.ggorlanding-cname.nexus.gg. - DNS cache: If changes aren’t visible immediately, try clearing your browser or local DNS cache.
- Support: If you continue to face issues, consult your domain provider’s support or reach out to your Nexus contact.
